How We Extract a Founder's Point of View
4 min read
Every founder has a point of view. Almost none can produce it on command in front of a camera. That gap is what makes "just be yourself" terrible advice.
Why founders freeze on camera
Ask a founder "what's your take on your industry?" and you'll get a careful, hedged answer. Ask them "what's the dumbest thing your industry believes?" over a coffee, and you'll get gold.
The POV is there. It just doesn't come out under the pressure of "content time."
How extraction works
Instead of asking a founder to perform, we interview them. A structured conversation not a script reading pulls out:
- The opinions they'd defend in a meeting but soften in public.
- The stories they tell customers off-script.
- The frameworks they use to make decisions.
- The contrarian takes they're slightly afraid to publish.
That raw material becomes the scripts. The founder never has to invent on camera they just re-say what they already believe, in a format that's already shaped.
Why this matters
Content that sounds like a founder and says something is rare. Most founder content is either authentic-but-bland or sharp-but-inauthentic. Extraction gets you both: real opinions, in the founder's voice, structured for attention.
The result
The founder records for an hour or two. Out of that comes 30 scripts that sound like them because they are them, just organized. That's the leverage of extraction.
