What a distribution system is

What Is a Distribution System, Exactly?

5 min read

People use "distribution system" loosely. Let's define it precisely, because the definition changes what you build.

A distribution system is a repeatable, owned process that turns your ideas into content, and your content into attention on a cadence, across platforms, without you doing the production.

The four parts

  1. Positioning what you're known for, and for whom.
  2. Production the scripts, recording, editing that turn ideas into finished video.
  3. Publishing the cadence and platforms that put it in front of people.
  4. Optimization reading what worked and doubling down.

Miss any one and you don't have a system. You have an activity.

System vs. activity

  • Posting when you feel inspired = activity.
  • Posting 30 videos a month because a system produces them = system.
  • Hoping a video goes viral = activity.
  • Reading retention data and building a series around what held attention = system.

Why "system" matters

Activities don't compound. Systems do. A system means month three is better than month one, because the engine learned. An activity means month three looks exactly like month one random.

What you actually do

In a real distribution system, the founder does one thing: record. One to two hours a month. Everything else positioning, scripting, editing, publishing, optimization is handled by the system.

That's the whole point. You stay the founder. The system becomes the distribution.

Want this running for you?

We build your distribution. You just record one to two hours a month.
