Reading the Data: What to Double Down On
4 min read
A distribution system doesn't just publish it learns. The learning happens by reading the data and acting on it. Here's how.
The three numbers we watch
- Retention. Where do people drop off? The first 3 seconds matter most, but mid-video dips reveal where the content loses people.
- Reach. How many non-followers saw it? This is the real growth metric it tells you if the algorithm is carrying you to new people.
- Saves and shares. Views are attention; saves and shares are value. A video people save or share did something real.
What we ignore
- Total views in isolation. A viral video with no saves built nothing.
- Likes. They feel good but don't predict growth.
- Any single video. We read patterns across 30, not one outlier.
How we act on it
- A format that overperforms → build a series around it.
- A pillar that resonates → make it 40% of next month's content.
- A hook style that holds attention → replicate it across scripts.
- A drop-off point that repeats → fix it in editing.
The monthly loop
Publish → read → adjust → publish again. Every month the system gets sharper because it's fed by the previous month's data. That's what makes month three better than month one not luck, but a learning loop.
You record. The system learns. The next month is smarter than the last.
Want this running for you?
We build your distribution. You just record one to two hours a month.
